Recommended Prior LearningInstrumental or vocal lessons through the school or a private teacher. Although not compulsory, it is an advantage for students to have taken Year 10 Music.
Level One Music
Learners will gain a wide experience in group performance, music technology, solo performance, composition, score reading, and musical knowledge.
From the list of standards below, students will establish fundamental knowledge of:
- Rehearsing and presenting a musical performance with confidence.
- Creating original music using traditional and sequencing digital software.
- Mixing and editing software (theory and practical).
- Musical language(theory) across practical and written tasks.
It is expected that students will continue learning an instrument or attend vocal lessons through the school Itinerant Program or privately (with their own teacher). This is crucial to supporting achievement in the Group(4 credits) and Solo(6 credits) assessments.
