Course Description

Level One Music
Learners will gain a wide experience in group performance, music technology, solo performance, composition, score reading, and musical knowledge.
From the list of standards below, students will establish fundamental knowledge of:
- Rehearsing and presenting a musical performance with confidence.
- Creating original music using traditional or digital writing methods.
- Mixing and editing software (theory and practical).
- Musical language(theory) across practical and written tasks.
Students must continue to learn instrument/vocal lessons through the school Itinerant Program or privately.
Recommended Prior Learning
Three to four years of instrumental or vocal lessons through school or private teaching is recommended for students to manage the expected performance outcomes. Although not compulsory, it is an advantage for students to have taken Year 10 Music.
