Level One English

All English courses are designed to support our students as they develop their skills and knowledge. We believe that developing confidence in themselves and their use of language is essential for our students’ success. In our courses, students will engage in a range of tasks and texts that have been chosen to help them think creatively and critically. In doing so, we will help them understand more about themselves and their place in the world. We aim to make learning relevant, responsive, challenging, inclusive and fun.

The main focus in this course is reinforcing and extending literacy skills through reading, writing, speaking and viewing in a range of contexts. Students who take this course will be expected to sit at least one external exam, and complete several internal assessments, based on a central film study.
