Level One Dance
Level One is the senior entrance course into the world of Dance. Students have a number of smaller briefs or assessments which then get averaged out to obtain the overall mark. Students will be working in groups and pairs and have the option of presenting solo work also.
It is recommended that those taking Level 1 Dance have some background knowledge of dance techniques and styles, though this is not essential. It is expected that students will take part in any performance opportunities that may arise.
There are three compulsory standards for this course, totaling 16 credits. Students have the option of gaining 8 more credits by undertaking optional standards.
Leadership and choreography roles for school troupes and shows may also be on offer. If students choose to dance in Showquest, there is the opportunity for additional credits.
