Course Description

This course is in Pliable Materials Product Technology. The project that you will work on will last the duration of the year and consist of three internal standards, and one external report.
The unit will be based around an Influential designer of your choice, you will design a collection inspired by the designer create for a client of your choosing. Finally, you adapt a commercial pattern to resemble your final design. Once you have completed your adaptation you will start construction on your garment and make a mock-up before making the final piece.
This unit covers research and design skills, creativity, fabric knowledge, numeracy through pattern adaptation and practical skills.
There is a written external assessment in term 4, where you will discuss how technological modelling supports decision making.
Recommended Prior Learning
10 PDT Pliable course is a requirement. Experience in other Technology courses may be considered.
