Music Studies
This course is designed for students who wish to follow a more traditional pathway. The Music Studies class will cover solo performance, theory, composition and provide a concentrated study for the learners who intend to sit Externals. Students will explore different musical genres and styles of notation through practical-based portfolio work including Orchestral and Concert Band projects. This is a critical pathway for students who wish to study Classical Music at University.
Students are able to choose from the following standards to design a course that suits their needs.
For a course endorsement, students must complete one external achievement standard.

Recommended Prior Learning
It is expected that students will have had a minimum of 4 years of performance experience/tuition on an instrument, to be able to undertake the required Solo and Group Performance assessments.
