Music Production
The new Music Production course offers students an introduction to essential live performance and production experiences. With the outcome of credits for Group Performance(4 credits) and Music Technology(6 credits), students will develop a thorough understanding of group arrangement, rehearsal strategy, performance technique, and digital sound. Alongside the practical development, all class members will be required to apply fundamental mixing skills for live and digital music. To gain the final core credits, students will complete Research on an industry-based topic to gain 4 literacy standards.
The final project will combine performance and production knowledge with the full class contributing towards a Spotify playlist (of the top original work written within the academic year).
Additional to the 14 core credits, students are also able to complete:
- Solo Performance (6 credits)
- Composition (6 credits)
Recommended Prior Learning
It is expected that students will have had a minimum of 4 years of performance experience and tuition to be able to undertake the required Solo and Group Performance assessments.
Pathway
If students hope to study MAINZ or any of the polytech providers, the course content will give learners excellent coverage of content to build on.
