Level One Business Studies
Business 100 is designed to give students a foundational understanding of how businesses operate in both New Zealand and global contexts. Students will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience that they can take with them into their jobs, trades and tertiary study. Topics covered include human resources, creating a CV and job interview skills, marketing analysis, business operations, as well as designing a product and bringing it to market. Students will have the opportunity to interact with outside stakeholders with expertise working within a business.
BUS100 will require high levels of literacy, perseverance and time management skills. Students will need to pursue personal areas of interest to complete both the internal and external assessments. Students must be prepared to start a business and run it, by either producing their own product or finding a way to outsource. Students will find it beneficial to take History or Geography alongside Business Studies.
